According to Consumer Reports the Verizon iPhone 4 has similar antenna issues that the AT&T iPhone 4 had. They did the same tests holding the phone in a "natural way" and covering the band gaps around the edge of the phone causes "meaningful decline in performance."
Consumer Reports conducted similar tests to the AT&T iPhone which deemed it one of the years unrecommended phones for 2010.
You would think that they would have fixed that issue after what had happened.
